How Often Should You Detail Your Car in Central Texas?
People ask me how often they should detail their car. There isn’t one schedule that fits everybody. A car parked in a garage and driven a few times a week has a different life from one that sits outside, carries kids or pets, and makes a daily commute.
Here in Central Texas, dust and pollen settle quickly, and summer heat is tough on a car that lives outdoors. For many drivers, a thorough detail every four to six months is a reasonable starting point. If the car sees heavy use, you may want the interior attended to sooner. The better question is what the vehicle needs right now.
What to do between details
Wash off bird droppings and bug residue promptly instead of letting them sit in the sun. When you wash the car, use clean wash media and avoid dragging dirt across the paint. Shake out the mats, pick up food and trash, and wipe up spills before they become stains. Those small habits make a real difference.
When it’s time to call
If the seats or carpet still look dirty after a quick vacuum, the glass is hazy, or the paint feels gritty after a wash, a more thorough visit may be worthwhile. Tell me what bothers you most. A tidy maintenance visit and a deep interior cleanup are different jobs, and I would rather recommend the right one than sell you work you don’t need.
Factory Fresh Detailers serves Georgetown, Round Rock, Cedar Park, and North Austin. Send a few photos of the exterior and interior with your quote request. I’ll look at the condition and talk through a sensible starting point.
